
Parliament has rescheduled its special sitting to honour the late Gen. (Rtd) Moses Ali from Monday, 20 July, to Tuesday, 21 July 2026.
According to a statement issued on Sunday, the dedicated sitting will begin at 10:00am, with Members of Parliament expected to pay tribute to the veteran soldier, politician and statesman.
Gen. Moses Ali served Uganda in several senior military and government positions during a public career spanning more than five decades. Until May 2026, he served as Second Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Leader of Government Business in Parliament. He was also the elected Member of Parliament for Adjumani West County.
The former minister died on Friday, 17 July 2026, aged 87. His death has attracted tributes recognising his contribution to national reconciliation, peacebuilding, government service and the development of the West Nile region.
Tuesday’s sitting will give legislators an opportunity to reflect on Gen. Ali’s long public career and his contribution to Uganda’s political, military and national development.
